a Rubeo Family Restaurant
Meet Ray, Cheryl, and Christina

Following in her father’s culinary footsteps, Chef Christina Rubeo, has already gained more than 10 years’ experience in the industry despite being just 23 years old. The young chef started working in restaurants washing dishes and worked her way up the culinary ladder. Her father, Ray, and her mother, Cheryl, have culinary backgrounds, so it was only natural for Christina to take an interest in her parents’ careers. “Food is chemistry and this job can be stressful at times, but it’s also very fun and exciting,” Rubeo says. “Every day is essentially the same routine, but it’s always diff erent. I’ve always had a passion for it since I was younger.”
Rubeo grew up near King of Prussia, Pa., and with her parents opened the Nook and Kranny Kafe in Phoenixville, Pa., three years ago. She and her father own Rubeo’s Catering as well. (Summer, 2015)

Proper Cup of Coffee
"All I want is a proper cup of coffee,
Made in a proper copper coffee pot.
I may be off my dot but I want a proper coffee
In a proper coffee pot.
Iron coffee pots, and tin coffee pots
They are no use to me.
If I can’t get a proper cup of coffee
In a proper copper coffee pot I’ll have a cup of tea."
